“Are you with me?”, I asked.
She smiled and looked skywards and I realized I was already losing her; eyes blinded with a far-distant look, she was disappearing into a world I would never know of, where I could never join her. Her head was not among the clouds either, because that would suggest she was among something of this world, this reality, an earthly matter. No, she was where no one else could go; another dimension, a world of dreams and shadows, where time and place didn’t seem to exist.
I realized then that I had already lost her. She would never truly join me on this Earth.
